GOD'S Community Garden in 16 years has planted, grown and distributed 70,117 lbs. of vegetables and will be continuing with this mission again in 2024. Fresh veggies and herbs given free to all neighbors in need.

God's Community Garden is a non-profit charitable group 501(C) sponsored by United Methodist Churches of Aquidneck Island.

We rely solely on volunteers, grants and donations to maintain and operate our greenhouses, gardens and farm stands year-round to continue to do God's work ....GIVING

Grants awarded for 2021 RI Foundation ($2,500), Alletta Morris McBean Charitable Trust ($2,500), Aquidneck Land Trust ($2,250), Bank of America John Clark Trust ($1,500).

Our main initiative is to provide free produce to those in need of healthy food and all senior citizens through our farm stands. We host farm stands in various locations on Aquidneck Island where anyone can come and receive produce, no questions asked.

Our community garden is closed March, April and May for soil turnover, adding compost and planting. 

Closed again for the month of October for replanting our winter harvest. All winter produce is distributed to, Salvation Army Newport & St John's Food Pantry in Portsmouth.
