“Harvest Love in a Shoebox”

God’s Community Garden is distributing shoe-boxes to be packed with small toys and needed items for children of war, famine and disaster. They are such innocent victims in these conflicts. Their young eyes have seen unbelievable horrors that can hardly be described. But it is amazing what comfort a little toy; a stuffed teddy bear, a doll, or a toy truck can make such a difference. Shoe-boxes are available at the Community Garden and Calvary United Methodist Church (200 Turner Rd, Middletown RI) and Portsmouth United Methodist Church (2732 East Main Rd Portsmouth, RI) to take, pack, and return by November 13th. Plenty of information and ideas are included in the shoe-box. You can choose to pack a shoe-box for a girl or a boy; ages 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14 and include a small donation of $9 to cover shipping and project costs.
